On of our church members has requested us to work on dishclothes to take with her on her upcoming Missions trip to Tanzania. She will need to them by July 5th.
Please knit or crochet your dishclothes in cotton yarn. Cotton yarn is soft and washable, and ideal for dishclothes. A great yarn to use is Lily's Sugar N Cream, This yarn is available at Micheal's Craft Stores, Beverly's Craft Stores, JoAnn's, and Walmart. Another yarn that is nice, but cost a little more is Lion Brand's new Cotton-Ease. Lion Brand also carried several other cotton yarns.
Need some ideas to get you started here are a couple of links to patterns for dishclothes. ( No need to go out a purchase patterns, there are plenty of easy ones you can find on the internet.)
Lion Brand Website: You will need to register (I think) to get a copy of the patterns, but it's free to register.
Knitting Patterns Central: Links to all kinds of dishclothes, easy to difficult.
Crochet Patterns Central: Links for all kinds of crocheted dishclothes, also easy to difficult.
If you are member of Raverly.com you can find lots of ideas, patterns, and yarn suggestions there. (Currently it's in Beta testing, so only those who are members can see the content of the site. )
You can drop off your completed dishes either in the church office during the week or in the worship center at the Women's Ministry table during service times.
If you have any questions leave a comment here and we will answer as soon as we can!
Happy Knitting and Crocheting!!!!

Our girls from our youth ministry had an opportunity to help with the Baby Blankets for the Community Pregnancy Center. We were able to get one Rag Blanket completed (just needs to go through the wash), and pinned two more together. We still have plenty of fabric, and plan to get a few more done to donate to the center!
